20 Tips to Make Your Customers Fall In Love With Your Brand

Posted on March 13, 2018 by Anthony Mortimer

The one thing that all successful brands have in common is quite simply that their customers love them! Not only are these brands loved, but they are trusted, relied upon and put on a pedestal against the competition.

Once a customer loves your brand, not only will they return to you time and time again but they will become a brand ambassador, recommending you to people around them.
So how do you get customers to love you? Well it’s going to take a lot of work, but here are 20 tips to help you improve brand image and get your customer loving you!

1. Give something extra

Consumer expectation is higher than it has ever been and those brands that are willing to give their customers more than they were expecting are well on the way to becoming a ‘loved brand’. For example, offering a £10 e-gift card with any purchase made will add that extra incentive for customers to pay attention to your brand.

2. People, not robots

Your customer wants to feel loved, so when they ring your company, try to ensure that they speak to a person, not a robot. Automated messages can leave the customer feeling frustrated, so if you can make sure every customer speaks to a real human being who they can have a conversation with, then do it!

3. Stick to your brand promise

Your brand promise is what you guarantee to deliver to your customer every single time they interact with you. If you’re going to promote a specific brand promise to appeal to your audience, you’re going to have to make sure you stick to that promise every time, otherwise the consumer will lose faith in you.

4. Give back to the community

This one is particularly important for brands trying to build a strong local following. Get your brand involved with projects that improve the community or the world in general and show the human side of your brand.

5. Tell your brand’s story

Everyone loves a good story and if your brand has an interesting one then tell it! Maybe your business started by selling coconuts in Indonesia and now you produce the most successful coconut drink in Europe! Whatever the story, let your customers know and they will get an appreciation of your humble beginnings.

6. Be completely transparent

Today’s consumer is no fool and they shouldn’t be treated as such. You need to be open and honest in your approach to avoid the risk of scandal.

7. Be proactive

If you want customers to love your brand, you’re going to need to take a proactive approach. Use direct marketing to get in front of the customer and let them know why you’re so great and the value you can offer them!

8. Get interactive

Consumers love a brand that they can interact with. Social media is the best place for this to happen, especially Twitter. People love to get real time answers from their favourite brands when they have a question or want to offer ideas. Interacting with the customer makes them feel valued and makes your brand seem more human.

9. Know your audience

The importance of knowing your audience cannot be stressed enough. The best way to appeal to your audience is to know what they like, where they are, what they do and who they are. Once you know all of this, you will know how to build a relationship with them.

10. Ask for feedback

No matter how much you know now, things can change, so it’s always wise to encourage continuous feedback from your customers.

11. Respond to feedback

There is no point in getting feedback if you’re not going to respond to it! Use the feedback you get to your advantage and make the necessary changes to keep your customers happy.

12. Reward loyalty

If customers are showing loyalty to your brand, don’t take this for granted. Rewarding loyalty will ensure those dedicated customers don’t get tempted by competitors and potential customers become more interested.

13. Make it fun

No matter what industry you’re in, there is always the opportunity to add a bit of fun to your brand personality. Whether it be a competition on social media or a fun event, try to leave a smile on your customer’s face.

14. Consistency

Everything you do should be in line with your brand guidelines. Venturing outside of those guidelines will confuse your audience and may change their perception of your brand. You should also be consistent in your treatment of customers.

15. Give your brand a face

Giving your brand a face will give the audience something to identify with. Whether you use a team member or a mascot, having a face to your brand will humanise you further and ignite an instant recognition with the consumer whenever they see that face.

16. Branding

Of course, every loveable brand has specific brand colours, shapes, tone of voice and a defining logo. Although this may not necessarily confirm your brand personality, it will again give the audience something to identify with when dealing with your brand.

17. Respect the customer

Respecting the customer, showing a sense of empathy and meeting their needs is crucial if you want people to love your brand. The customer doesn’t want to be treated like a customer or a consumer, they want to be treated like a person.

18. Set trends

Brands that really stand out are the ones that set the trends! Being innovative and creative with your marketing campaigns will really get you noticed and keep you at the forefront of the customer’s mind.

19. Quality AND quantity

Ever heard the phrase ‘quality over quantity’? Well in today’s fast-paced consumer world you’re going to need both! People expect so much more from brands these days, so make sure everything you offer is not only of the highest quality but the maximum quantity too!

20. Be there for the customer

There is nothing more frustrating than being ignored by a brand when you want to communicate with them. Be there for the customer, listen to them and pamper to their needs and they will love you!
